After I completed my certification as a parent coach, I wasn't sure what to do next. I began meeting weekly with 3 other parenting coaches who were in my certification cohort. None of us had built a successful service business before. It was the blind leading the blind!

 

Over our months together, I began building the pieces of my business. There was so much to learn! At times, I wanted to just fall on the floor and cry. My heart so desperately longed to be of service and help other parents but I didn't know how to connect with potential clients.

With some excellent help from both friends and professionals, I began to understand the big picture of what it takes to run a business and to connect with potential clients. As an engineer, I could imagine the systems I needed and I understood the crucial need for a plan to accomplish my goals. But before the systems and plan must come the vision. Using sacred daydreaming, I created a detailed vision for my business. Now, things are moving along and the vision is being woven into my reality.

The pain from this learning curve was so unexpected! And being able to help my 3 colleagues has been so rewarding! So now I am developing a program for new parent coaches in order to share my earned wisdom and support their development. I have a big vision for this part of my business, but it's going to take some time to complete the plan.
